NATO Secretary General Appreciated ACR

On Thursday, 11 September 2008, members of Military Academy Vyskov Maj Jiří ADAMEC, WO Ondřej KRYŠTOF and Mr Jiří NUDČENKO attended working meeting at NATO HQ International Staff. The meeting was arranged by Head of Training & Development Service IS Mr Keith AMOSS and for other NATO bodies attended Mr Hans VOETS from JFC Brunssum and Dr Gokay SÜRSAL from ACT JET Norfolk. Topic of the meeting was lessons learned from up to date sessions of NATO Civilians’ Pre-deployment Course and discussion on content and dates for year 2009.

To astonishment of all participants Mr Amoss invited them to move to another place within HQ. The destination was Private Office of NATO Secretary General. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer personally greeted the participants and presented them with his memorial coin. In short speech he expressed his thanks to all presented and through them to all involved in NATO civilians training. Secretary General highlighted the importance of this task and appreciated the achieved level. At the end he expressed his confidence that the training will continue at least as successfully as it goes now even in future.

NATO Civilians’ Pre-deployment Course is run by Training and Doctrine Directorate at Military Academy Vyškov. First – pilot session took place in April last year. Due to high standard of lecturers and instructors and also top quality of support to theoretical and, most of all, practical training was the course accredited by COS ACT Norfolk and set as mandatory qualification for all NATO civilians who are deployable. In 2007 total of 78 participants attended in three sessions. Five sessions were agreed for 2008, out of which three already completed trained 108 participants. Total amount of five sessions has been agreed for 2009 as well.
